Information for Authors
-
Authors are solely responsible for the ethical conduct of the research and the writing of the article. The data, opinions, and conclusions presented are the exclusive responsibility of the authors.
-
Authorship must be clearly defined at the time of submission. The names of the authors registered in the system will be the names published in the final document. Therefore, careful attention must be paid to the insertion of authors' names and their order. Changes to authorship after the commencement of the editorial process will be subject to review and may be denied. All listed authors must have contributed substantially to the research and manuscript preparation. If this is not the case, contributions may be acknowledged in the 'Acknowledgements' section.
-
The corresponding author responsible for the submission must ensure all author profile fields are completed within the system. This includes a biographical summary, Lattes and/or ORCID platform links, and the respective contact emails for each author.
-
Articles may be signed by a maximum of eight (8) authors.
-
Authors must ensure that the article is original and is not currently under consideration by another journal. The text, or a significant portion thereof, must not have been previously published in a journal, book, event proceedings, or on internet pages. Articles published on preprint platforms will be considered original provided they have not been simultaneously submitted for peer review to another periodical.
-
Submissions previously made available on preprint servers must declare their virtual location (link, DOI, etc.) in the "Comments for the Editor" field. Preprints may be considered for publication in all sections of the journal. In the peer review process, reviewers will be made aware of the author's identity. The preprint servers accepted by the journal are SocArxiv, SciElo Preprints, and Zenodo. If accepted for publication, the preprint must indicate the link to the version published in the journal on its server or platform.
-
Plagiarism and self-plagiarism will not be accepted. All articles will be subjected to similarity verification systems prior to peer review.
-
Content previously made available in a thesis or dissertation is not considered prior publication. However, authors must declare in a note that the article is a result of an academic work, indicating the link to the original research. Texts derived from dissertations and theses must adhere to the format of a scientific article, and the conclusion must be original.
-
Following submission, the journal's editorial team may request clarification regarding the participation of the authors listed on the manuscript, as well as any questions arising from the manuscript's similarity assessment.
-
Submissions must be anonymised for the double-blind peer review process. The article text must be submitted without any references or information that could facilitate the identification of the authors. Where self-citation is unavoidable (which should be avoided where possible), the authors' names must be omitted. In such cases, the citation format used should be: (Author(s), year). Authorship data must be provided in the metadata in step 3 of the OJS submission process. Similarly, all authorship information in the file properties must be deleted.
-
Should the article reproduce legally protected documents, images, and/or material, it is the author’s responsibility to obtain the necessary permissions and reproduction rights. The author is equally responsible for any damages resulting from the absence of this measure. If the author submits a translation of another researcher’s article, it is the author’s responsibility to secure the necessary authorisations for the publication of the article translated into Portuguese.
-
All authors must submit their Open Researcher and Contributor ID (ORCID) upon submission.
-
The funding sources of the research that led to the article and any potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed.
-
The journal recommends that research data be made publicly available in a research data repository. When published, the article will indicate the link for access.
-
Each author may submit as many articles as desired for evaluation. However, only one article per author will be published per issue. To promote author and idea diversity, once an article has been published in the journal, authors will have new submissions evaluated only from the subsequent issue onwards. This rule also applies to articles submitted under co-authorship.
-
Authors must notify the journal at any time during the editorial workflow or after publication if they identify significant errors in the research or the article. They must cooperate with the scientific and executive editors in the publication of errata, addenda, corrections, or even the retraction of the article, should it be deemed necessary.
-
Self-archiving of articles is permitted in institutional repositories, thematic repositories, or on personal websites following their publication in the journal, using the final published version and including the link to the first publication.
-
Authors must retain the copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication, with the work simultaneously licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution Licence, which permits the sharing of the work with proper acknowledgement of authorship and its initial publication in this journal.
