Guidelines for Authors

Igapó is a journal belonging to the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Amazonas (IFAM), under the responsibility of the Pro-Rectory of Research, Post-Graduation and Innovation. It operates under a continuous submission model (fluxo contínuo), and has been published since 2007. Its objective is to publish multidisciplinary scientific, technical, and technological articles, fostering debate and the dissemination of scientific production across various fields.

The periodical is addressed to all those interested in topics related to Public and Business Administration, Agronomy, Accounting and Tourism, Environmental Sciences, Communication and Information, Law, Economics, Education, Teaching, Geosciences, Interdisciplinary Studies, Materials Science, Chemistry, and Zootechnics/Fishery Resources.

The Igapó journal publishes scientific, technical, and technological articles, as well as texts resulting from studies and research pertinent to the journal's areas of interest, provided they are aligned with the publication's focus and scope.

The contribution must be original and unpublished, and must not have been submitted to any other journal.

By submitting the article, the principal author declares that all listed co-authors are aware of and agree with the submission. Failure to comply with this rule will result in the immediate rejection of the manuscript and the blocking of future submissions. The inclusion of authors' names without due consent constitutes a serious ethical violation, leading to the termination of the evaluation process and the rejection of the manuscript. The Igapó journal adheres to the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), and the guidelines for integrity in scientific activity from the CNPq (National Council for Scientific and Technological Development).

The text must follow the style standards and bibliographic requirements described on the "Norms for the Presentation of Originals" page.

The content of the submitted work is the sole responsibility of the authors.

The submission file must be in Microsoft Word, OpenOffice, or RTF format.

Along with the submission, the following documents must be attached to the OJS system, signed (electronically) by all authors:

  • Declaration on the Use of Generative Language Models or other Natural Language Processing (NLP) Tools: Authors must declare that they have not used generative language model tools or other Natural Language Processing tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Bard, Gemini, etc.) during the writing of the manuscript. If used, the tools, the functions performed, and the degree of percentage applied must be described;

  • Authorship Declaration.
