AVALIAÇÃO DA PAULLINIA CUPANA COMO INIBIDOR VERDE DE CORROSÃO EM AÇO CARBONO COM A APLICAÇÃO DE TÉCNICAS ELETROQUÍMICAS

Nos últimos anos, os produtos naturais surgiram como inibidores de corrosão econômicos e ecologicamente corretos, recebendo grande atenção. Os extratos de plantas possuem vários compostos orgânicos que apresentam propriedades de inibição à corrosão. Considerando as propriedades antioxidantes do guaraná, o presente estudo propõe o uso do extrato etanólico de sementes e casquilho de guaraná (Paullinia cupana) como potencial inibidor de corrosão para o aço carbono em meio ácido. Os extratos foram caracterizados por FTIR e CLAE/UV, neles foram detectados a presença de heteroátomos e compostos antioxidantes. Os resultados eletroquímicos indicaram que os extratos atuaram de forma eficiente na inibição da corrosão do aço carbono em meio ácido, as maiores eficiências de inibição de 74,65 e 69,94 % foram alcançadas para os extratos de casquilho e semente, respectivamente para concentração de inibidor de 800 ppm. Além disso, a adsorção de moléculas, na presença dos extratos, em sítios ativos da superfície do aço carbono foi de fisissorção e obedeceu à isoterma de adsorção de Frumkin.
