About the Journal
Born in the heart of the Amazon, where rivers meander like veins of knowledge and the forest whispers ancient stories, lies the Igapó Journal. Just as the igapós—the seasonally flooded areas that nurture the region's rich biodiversity—this scientific journal emerges to give life and voice to academic production, connecting knowledge that transcends borders and engages in dialogue with researchers across Brazil and the world.
Established in 2007, at the time the Federal Centre for Technological Education of Amazonas (CEFET), the Igapó journal’s mission was to disseminate the scientific research developed within the institution. With CEFET's transformation into the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Amazonas (IFAM) in 2008, its scope expanded to encompass the various campuses of the Federal Education Network throughout Amazonas. Since then, the journal has served as an essential channel for the dissemination of knowledge produced in the region, nationwide, and globally.
Between 2007 and 2012, Igapó published a single issue annually. From 2013 onwards, it adopted a biannual periodicity, keeping pace with the increasing volume of scientific output. Currently, the journal operates under a continuous submission model, publishing exclusively scientific research papers, thus consolidating its position as a primary platform for the sharing of academic knowledge.
Firm in its purpose, the Igapó Journal continues, like the waters of the Amazonian rivers, connecting ideas, promoting science, and expanding the frontiers of knowledge.
